Coordinator decision practice: consent, adverse events and eligibility

Coordinator competency shows in decisions, not in course titles. The Clinical Research Coordinator track in CRLN's Practice Lab puts you in realistic site situations and scores what you decide against ICH E6(R3) Good Clinical Practice.

It is free for learners and research sites, and no account is needed to start.

What you get

  • Informed consent: the current approved consent form, a person obtaining consent who must be delegated to do it, and consenting again when the information changes.
  • Adverse event reporting: recognizing a possible adverse event when a participant mentions it, bringing it to the investigator for medical judgment, and meeting the reporting timelines.
  • Eligibility: checking each inclusion and exclusion criterion against source records, and knowing what to do when one is unclear.
  • The most cautious answer is not always the right one. The track rewards the proportionate response.

Who it is for

Coordinators who want to check their judgment, people moving into a coordinator role, and site managers who want to see where a team needs support.

Questions

What is clinical research coordinator competency?

It is making the calls a site depends on, correctly and in proportion: consent, visit windows, delegation, source documentation, safety reporting and investigational product. CRLN-TRG-001, CRLN's open competency framework, describes these domains for the coordinator role.

Do I need an account?

No. Lessons and practice scenarios in the Practice Lab open without an account. An account is needed only to save progress and to earn the free credential.

Does the coordinator track issue a certificate?

The role course for coordinators issues a certificate today. Scores describe performance in simulation. They are not a license or a certification.
